It comes as no surprise that Brent, “Beaston" as he's affectionately called, is a professional drummer who is nationally sought after on a regular basis within the industry. From early childhood days of playing pots and pans on the kitchen floor to playing in front of thousands on a regular basis, it can be argued that Brent Easton was destined for greatness from the beginning. His unique skill, infectious passion and genuine spirit is one that many have to come to grow and love during the span of his career.
“It can be argued that Brent Easton was destined for greatness from the beginning.”
Born and raised in the small town of South Bend, IN, Brent possessed a musical interest at an early age and he was given the opportunity at age 12 to be trained by Motown legend Billy "Stix" Nicks (Jr Walker and the Allstars). In 2004, he saw his proverbial "way out," and he never looked back. Brent entered one of the nation’s biggest drum competitions, sponsored by Guitar Center. This competition landed Brent in the finals held in Los Angeles, CA, beating out 3,000 drummers nationwide.
Although Brent landed the runner-up position in the competition, this experience ultimately catapulted him into a place of national recognition seemingly overnight.
Almost immediately upon returning to Indiana, Brent caught the attention of Grammy, Stellar, Dove award winner J.Moss, a national gospel recording artist and producer. He subsequently began touring with Moss, which led to further opportunities as Brent began to build his professional resume. He has since garnered several impressive and extremely versatile credits which include (but are not limited to) Stellar and Dove Award winners Ricky Dillard, Myron Butler, Karen Clark Sheard, Kierra Sheard, and Marvin Sapp. He's also had the honor of sharing the stage with Grammy Award winners Fred Hammond, Kim Burrell, Ralph Tresvant (New Edition), and Shirley Murdock, the National Basketball Association (NBA) and Jordan Brand artist Lee England, Jr.
Brent also shed the notion that he's only capable of playing in one genre when he began touring with Pure Star Movement, a rock band he and his brother helped to form. With Pure Star Movement, he's graced the stage and opened for Grammy winners and nominees Pj Morton(Maroon 5), Fireflight, Chevelle, Evans Blue and Trapt.....to name a few.
Brent has toured all over the world, including Africa, London, Bermuda, Cayman Islands.......and has been featured in magazine articles, which include Modern Drummer, Drum magazine, and Fireworks (London). He is endorsed by Sakae, Sabian Cymbals, Vater drumsticks, Evans drumheads, Alclair Audio, Drumlite and Sole Premise. There is no "stop" in Brent’s vocabulary and if you ask him, he's just warming up! Whether blazing the stage while sharing his gift or hosting clinicians to mold young minds, Brent’s musical versatility, expertise, drive and passion will ensure that his musical legacy is one to remember.
